IP Address

Most of you are aware of IP Address, If not, then go ahead and read this post. Let's discuss more about IP Address and why we are discussing about IP Address and how it is connected to Marketing Cloud. This is the introduction post on this topic. IP Address: An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a network address for your computer, so the internet knows where to send your emails, data etc. IP Address is like a ticket to everything "Internet". Say if you were in a generation sending postcard to friends and relatives and forgot to mention their postal address(Or To Address) where would your postcard land? Similar to this scenario, IP Address is equivalent to the Physical Address that you are looking/searching for.

How IP works? Today, your IP address is configured and created by that very same TCP/IP protocol system—so that whenever you’re on a computer and have access to a network (at home, at work, at an airport or hotel), you and your computer can join in on the online.

Every website has a unique IP address, but when you connect to the site, you only see the domain name. For example, when you go to google.com, you don’t see the string of numbers; you just see “google.com.” But if Google didn’t have an IP address, you couldn’t connect with their website, and they couldn’t tell you what you are looking for.  Let me know in the comment below if you need more info on IP Address Why we need IP Address in SFMC(Marketing Cloud)?
